The End of the World As We Know It (But My Reading Is Fine)

Happy September!

After picking up Brian Aldiss' Non-Stop almost at random from my to be read stacks, I've decided to give the month over to Armageddon fiction. Pre- & post-apocalyptic (but not zombies, since I'm weary of them), building to Big Ruin or dwelling in the recent/distant aftermath of some Armageddon-type instance.

I look forward to finally giving Aldiss a go (I'm currently about 75 pages in; so far, so grim but delightful), since it deals with one of my favorite sf settings: a generation ship gone to literal seed...

Other possibilities include Roger Zelazny's "Damnation Alley" novella (read the novel version a while ago, but never got around to the original incarnation), Cormac McCarthy's The Road and Emma Bull's Bone Dance.

Any recommendations are welcome!
