However, this is not to say I was a total lazyass this weekend.
I wrote a treatment for my next screenplay (something I've been wanting to do for a while, and now have a deadline for). Basically, a Lovecraftian pastiche film, set in the 1940s (with a flashback to the 20s), and absolutely horror movie esque. Why start this now, you might ask? Well, because there's a new contest, called, "The Next Great John Carpenter Movie". Essentially, it breaks down like this. Scripts are entered and read, one is picked as winner ($500 option vs. a six figure pick up), and is then read by, bum-bum-bum, John "Halloween, The Thing, The Fog, Escape From NY/LA, Ghosts of Mars, Starman, Prince of Darkness, In the Mouth of Madness" Carpenter. Yes, the man himself! Woo-hoo! Quite a dream, and i've got a killer idea, with some ab fab characters... Its strongly fueled by HPL's "The Colour Out of Space" and "Call of Cthulhu" but I think it'll be quite good... 3 page treatment, some character sketches, and all's well! I'm gonna WIN this one, by gum.
I also read much of Hunter: the Reckoning, plotted out a Hunter story, plotted out a Ravenloft Story (for Trista's lone character), cleaned up the sun room, completely dismantled the futon's somewhat shattered, mostly useless skeleton, installed the air conditioner, got new sneakers, and spent time with the hooney.
Kat was off helping her sister move out of college this weekend. She wasn't certain when she'd get back home, and it was a pleasant surprise to find her returning home yesterday. Welcome back Kitty.
